roger clark, software engineer

Main/HomePage

This is the home of Roger Clark. Despite adequate (I might even dare to say "impressive") web design skills, this page is in mostly plain text. In the age of Web 2.0, this kind of page is rebellious, anticonformist, and chock full of artsy statements about minimalism and such.

Like any real nerd, I write software for a living. In fact, I wrote software long before I wrote software for a living. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio and I most recently worked for a company called Kayako, developing CRM (customer support) applications in C++ for Windows. In case you were wondering, here's my resume.

Software I've had something to do with:

  • Screenie - a pretty convenient screenshot utility, featuring automatic conversion to JPEG, PNG, and GIF, FTP upload, and inline cropping. It'll change your life. If your life consists mainly of taking screenshots, that is. Since developing this years and years ago, there have been a number of competing applications to pop up, but most of them are still pretty lame.

Miscellaneous snippets of code and such

  • Screenie in 10 lines of AppleScript - an AppleScript substitute for Screenie on OS X. Asks for a description, takes a screenshot, uploads to FTP, and copies the resulting URL to clipboard. I have it assigned to a key combination with Quicksilver.
  • Code at #winprog SVN - random bits of mostly old code. I'll get around to putting more interesting things here later.

Other stuff

Interests and hobbies

  • DDRecall - my Dance Dance Revolution scores. I used to play this game way too much. I have a machine in my garage!
  • Wikipedia - my Wikipedia user contributions page. Haven't done much here in a while, but there you go.

Friends

Here are some pretty hilarious dumb programming quotes.
